Reflexite Europe
October 27 2005
In 2003, Reflexite Ireland, European Conversion Centre achieved the only Irish national standard accreditation for human resource development, which is called “Excellence Through People”. Today nearly 900 companies in Ireland have achieved this standard.
The process involves a one-day audit on site reviewing many areas of the Human Resource Management processes. Effective October 2005, the Excellence Through People standard has been reviewed and updated to accommodate the increasing pace of change within the Human Resource and Business environment.
There are two main objectives to this new standard:
- To act as a business improvement tool and driver for change.
- To promote employee learning and development in line with the organisations goals.
There are now eight new core criteria on which companies are evaluated. On completion of the audit rather than achieving the Excellence Through People accreditation, it has been changed to 3 Levels of Excellence: Platinum – Gold - Standard.
The results of the audit were returned Reflexite Ireland is the first company in Ireland to achieve Level of Excellence: Standard.
Only four companies in total to date were recommended to apply for this new standard in advance, including Reflexite.
Lynne Nolan (European Human Resource Executive) stated; “We will work to continually improve and aim to achieve Platinum status as an ultimate goal. The auditor commented on Reflexite’s procedures as being absolute best practice in many areas. This achievement is not down to any one individual, it has been made possible through the involvement of all of Reflexite Ireland’s employee owners in the following processes; the annual audit, day to day commitment to self and team development, business planning, leadership and quality improvement.”
Commenting on the achievement, John Butler (Programme Manager – Excellence Through People) outlined “In addition to being the first company in Ireland to reach the new level of excellence: standard, Reflexite is the only company to date in the South East that have obtained the new standard. The assessor and the approvals board were very impressed with the organisations approach to all aspects of human resource management.
