Reflexite Europe
August 8 2008
Reflexite, the inventor of prismatic retroreflection used in the world of personal, traffic and vehicle safety, has recreated the soft prism film that is used in the construction of safety products such as badges, armbands, slap wraps and stickers. In line with today's fashion trends, Reflexite is now offering the retroreflective material to promotions companies, badge makers and designers with a wide choice of vibrant colours - opening up a mine of possibilities for new design concepts.
Thanks to the 70s retro-look of everyday objects, it was no surprise when the makers of retroreflective material were approached to spice up designer's luminous creations. In response to such high demand, it was necessary for the material to be more flexible in its use of rapid cut and weld, so Reflexite re-launched one of its base produced and renamed it 'Reflexite Classic 2008'.
The thousands of microprisms which make up 'Reflexite Classic 2008' are moulded onto films, brought to life by a wide range of vibrant colours. It was no mistake when Paco Rabanne created his incomparable reflective dress design and the same originality is now inspiring a range of accessory lines, design ideas where captured light reflects a feeling of fun and vibrancy.
It's a perfectly matched market for the technique developed by Reflexite in 1970 whereby 80% of the light is reflected back towards its source - even when it is raining. Reflexite, which has now grown into the ranks of the global marketplace, is seeing its technology being taken up by the design world. It will no doubt be spurred-on to continue with the research that it has been doing for over 35 years.
Reflexite's primary calling will always be to preserve live, but safety can be fun. |
